Critical Reflection

Our product of the music video doesn’t exactly relate to the genre of the song Yesterday from The Beatles which is the song we based our music video on. The genre of Yesterday is rock and pop. However, generally w hen people hear pop or rock they assume a cheerful or booming type of music. The visuals in our music video do the opposite. But that is only because that’s how the song of Yesterday is. Yesterday is a melancholic ballad about the break-up of a relationship. The singer nostalgically laments for yesterday when he and his love were together, before she left because of something he said. In the music video there was a main character however due to how everyone is ordered in the video and the missing scene of the couples arguing it’s difficult to depict who the main character is. The video isn't targeted towards one specific person but represents anyone going through an unexpected breakup. Anyone who went through or is going through the emotional cost of ending a me

The Beatles History

Image
Hello, my people! Today I’m talking about The Beatles history.  The Beatles, one of the most iconic and influential rock bands in history, formed in Liverpool, England, in 1960. The band's original lineup consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Pete Best. However, Pete Best was soon replaced by Ringo Starr, finalizing the classic lineup. They began by playing in local clubs and quickly gained a following due to their energetic performances and catchy tunes. In 1963, the Beatles released their debut album, "Please Please Me," which marked the beginning of their meteoric rise to fame. This album featured hits like "Love Me Do" and "Twist and Shout." The Beatles' music, characterized by its harmonious melodies and innovative songwriting, struck a chord with the youth of the 1960s. In 1964, the Beatles made their historic appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in the United States, which catapulted them to international s

Why I Chose "Yesterday": Exploring The Beatles' Impact on My Music Video

Hello, my people! Today I'm talking about why I chose to do the music video on The Beatles. I am using two songs I've mentioned in my previous blogs as examples. The examples will show in depth why I might have done one of those two songs rather than the song I chose, Yesterday. To start things off, I chose The Beatles because they're iconic and have a huge fan base/well-known. "Help!" is a lively and upbeat track with an infectious melody. It's a song that can make people want to dance and sing along, which is what I wanted for my video at first. In contrast, "Your Mother Should Know" offers a more nostalgic and whimsical feel, adding a cool emotional layer to the music video. Both songs have lyrics that connect with people on different levels. "Help!" is all about asking for help, while "Your Mother Should Know" has this vibe of tradition and family wisdom, making them relatable to pretty much everyone. Creating a tribute to th

Arguing Couple Deleted Scene Music Video

Image
Hello, my people! Welcome back to another blog. I'll be talking about some deleted scenes from the footage that we recorded. We had to delete this scene because the video was long enough as it was. Without the deleted scene, the video was a minute and fifty. But, with the deleted scene it was two minutes and five seconds. As a group, we figured it would be best to remove the scene entirely. The scene was two couples arguing, and her walking away, leaving forever. The two people we used were none other than myself and my girlfriend. I figured this would be the best idea since nobody from my group wanted to create a fake argument with their girlfriends. And it's a much better idea than using two strangers to argue because then there wouldn't be any connection between the character's sadness. I recorded this scene after school when I went over to her house. I think it was crucial to do it in a natural environment like a house due to how common a breakup would be in th
