Genre Decision: Horror

Image
Together as a group we decided to go for horror. We decided this since we all agreed that horror movies is what we know the most about. Mostly all of us watched tons of horror movies with a mix of other genres. Horror is also a fairly easy genre to replicate since we just have to create enough fear in the audience that they actually are scared. It was between horror and comedy, but we all agreed that horror is easier and more interesting to create an opening scene for.

Genre Research: Thriller

Thriller genre is a type of literature and film that creates suspense, excitement, and anxiety. Some popular examples of thriller books include The Da Vinci Code, The Girl on the Train, and Gone Girl. The genre is well-suited to film and television mainly. It generally keeps its audience on the “edge of their seats” as the plot builds towards a climax. Thrillers are often villain-driven plots, whereby they present obstacles that the protagonist or hero must overcome. Low angle shots are used a lot to emphasize difference in characters power and so are High angle shots to emphasize powerlessness. They use zoom a lot to zoom into characters who are displaying a lot of emotion or tilt to emphasize anxiousness. They will use things like slowdowns or speedups that are edited in to create suspense. Thriller films often use masks to hide characters and their emotions, mirrors to show a person and often represent their emotions, and letters. They will add in non-diegetic suspenseful music to

Genre Research: Comedy

Comedy is a movie genre that is intended to make audiences laugh and amuse them. Comedy films are designed to be funny and entertaining. These films can take many forms, including stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, sitcoms, and comedic films. The comedy genre is defined by events that are intended to make someone laugh. It doesn't matter if the story is macabre, droll, or zany. They use camera angels like, wide shots, medium shots, then they use things like The push, this is used to really display a characters comedic reaction. They will usually wear goofy outfits like clown suits, props that are wiggly and sound funny like an airhorn. They will edit peoples faces or bodily features to look wonky and out of proportion. They will often add in Non-Diegetic sounds like laugh tracks to make the film seem funnier. I like the humor and that I usually don't have to take it serious. Sometimes when humor is used incorrectly it can make the film corny and not likeable.

Genre Research: Horror

Horror is a genre of fiction that is intended to disturb, frighten or scare. Horror is often divided into the sub-genres of psychological horror and supernatural horror, which are in the realm of speculative fiction. Horror intends to create an eerie and frightening atmosphere for the reader. Often the central menace of a work of horror fiction can be interpreted as a metaphor for larger fears of a society. There are many horror movies in the movie industry such as Friday the 13th which has placed its mark in pop culture. They often will use low angle shots to represent a character fleeing with a character in pursuit or a Dutch angle to show the horror character before the person runs. They often use items like machetes, have dark uniforms, masks, fake blood, and other things to make the film more scary. They often add Diegetic sounds like screaming, yelling, and nondiegetic scary music to further add to suspense and fear. I enjoy being scared by a good horror movie with a good story.

Group Blog (Final Task/Movie)

Hello, my people, welcome back. Today, I will be discussing about my new movie project. First and foremost, as I mentioned in my previous blog, I will not be working alone as I have a group of questionably "talented" individuals. I am working with a set of peers who sit next to me in class, and they're people I have grown a liking to despite their weird quirks. I am working with three people. Mario, Myles, and Jayden. I worked with them in my latest music video project. And I can say without a doubt, I enjoyed every minute of us working together. I have chosen to work with them again for a set of reasons. Working with others will make this project easier as I would have a way to alleviate some of my work by having partners. Stating our opinions and values will also be helpful so we can bounce back ideas and come up with a better project than we would by ourselves. As people say, "the more the merrier." I used to hope that I would not regret being in a group wit

Introduction Blog (Final Task/Movie)

Hello, my people. I am Daniel Andrade, a proud Hispanic from Honduras to fulfill my parent's dreams of being successful. I plan to do what my whole family has aspired to do but did not accomplish and become a fortunate lawyer. I am starting my success story at Fort Lauderdale High School. And I am currently in my junior year. I am 16 years old and still have at least three months before I turn 17. I look forward to passing my AICE classes, getting a great score on my SAT, and overall having an enjoyable school year. Outdoors isn't my style, so I will try to find ways to spend time inside the breeze of AC. People blame technology on that, and I 100% agree. But, instead of spending hours scrolling through the internet, I prefer to read. I like mysterious books with a good plot twist. When not reading, I am doing my favorite hobby, chess. I swear I feel like that game consumes my life. I recently managed to finally play chess blindfolded, which is basically imagining the game
